Bici-Marcha May Day!

May 2, 2012 — Leave a comment

Bici-Marcha was an organized bike ride from East LA ( Olympic Bvld.  x Atlantic Blvd.) on May 1st to join the May Day March in Downtown LA.   We meet at 12pm and biked down Olympic Blvd.  The ride was organized by East Yard Communities, LA CAUSA and Communities for a Better Environment.   We rode our bicycles to show solidarity with migrants and workers.   Environmental degradation goes hand in hand with degradation of the human spirit.

We join the May Day March on Broadway x Olympic, as we arrive we notices hundreds of people ready to march for the cause.  Different organizations showed their support, with groups ranging from gay rights, labor unions, environmental groups, general workers,  and immigration rights.  May Day for me is a day to show support for those in our community that are oppressed and are taken advantage of.  A time to stand for your rights and to fight to extend them to those that are part of our community but are excluded.

To fighting for the CAUSA!
